Thank you for using PassGen (the "App"). This policy explains what data the App handles and how we protect your privacy. In short: PassGen runs entirely on your device and does not collect, transmit, or share any personal information.
We do not collect any personal data. Specifically, the App does not:
Passwords are generated locally using Android's java.security.SecureRandom
API. The passwords exist only in your device's memory and are never sent over
the network. When you tap "Copy", the password is placed on your device's
system clipboard so you can paste it into another app. You are in control of
the clipboard at all times.
The App stores your last-used settings (length, character sets, exclude-ambiguous option) in Android's private SharedPreferences, which stays on your device and is inaccessible to other apps. You can wipe this data any time from Android Settings → Apps → PassGen → Storage → Clear data.
PassGen declares no runtime permissions and no INTERNET permission. It cannot access the network even if requested to.
The App does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under 13.
Because no data leaves your device, there is no server-side data breach risk.
Cryptographic randomness is provided by the platform's SecureRandom,
which is the standard for security-sensitive workloads on Android.
The App does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting service.
If we update this policy in a future release, the "Effective date" above will change and the updated policy will ship with the new version of the App.
